- An 8-character alphanumeric password can be cracked in hours; 16 or more characters with symbols is vastly stronger.
- Use a different password for every service, and store them in a password manager.
- Some Japanese services limit which symbols they accept; if a password is rejected, generate one without symbols.

No. They are generated in your browser with the Web Crypto API and never sent to a server.
How long should a password be?
16 characters or more is generally recommended, which is the default here.
Can I leave out symbols?
Yes. Uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols can each be switched on or off.
